STURBRIDGE, Mass. — Breaking news overnight as emergency crews are responding to a tractor-trailer fire on Interstate 84 in Sturbridge.
Massachusetts State Police and the Sturbridge Fire Department are responding to the area of Exit 5, where a tractor-trailer unit is reported to be fully engulfed in flames.
The fire is now spreading into the surrounding grass as firefighters work to contain the flames.
All three westbound lanes of Interstate 84 will be closed in the area of the fire. Motorists traveling through Sturbridge should expect significant delays and seek an alternate route if possible.
Information regarding the driver, possible injuries and what caused the tractor-trailer to catch fire was not immediately available.
